ways to improve wireless gaming connectivity

Hi all,
just wanted to ask what the best practices are to try and improve wireless online gaming?
Ive read through the various threads and the subject seems to vary a lot depending on users needs
Im using a 7800dxl on adsl and using a samsung galaxy tab wirelessly - been having a lot of trouble trying to connect to server on a darts game app, always " server error " however it would appear this maybe a problem with the game developers server because reviews are mixed on google play
if / when on the rare occasion I do connect and play - the game can cut out half way through a game and lose connection and then it is back to the beginning and try to connect to server ( frustrating )
I just want to make sure that ive done everything I can with my router so any advice on possible improvements on wifi connection from the router to the tablet would be appreciated thanks.
P.s no other connection issues other than this particular online game which is the only real online game ive played - hence any advice / tips are welcome - thanks

Lack of responses could be due to it being a holiday period, non Samsung Galaxy users on the forum or none having any experience of that game.
While I fall into the latter two categories, I would suggest as troubleshooting to try other games to see if you get the same problem as well as checking out the Samsung Galaxy forum, to see if others are having similar experiences
http://samsunggalaxysforums.com/ - don't know if that darts game has a forum or a contact to report the fault to, but that would be another avenue to explore.
With wireless issues, changing channels can help and inSSIDer can prove useful to determine if any interrupts are caused by other users.
inSSIDer is a MetaGeeks program, but their site is just pushing v4.0 which has gone Pro but you can still get the free v.3 from
http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5936-inssider.html to download onto your computer.
The site is safe as I've just downloaded on top of my existing v3.

Cheers Tomken,
The game developer says its a fault with my broadband connection which may be true but is also doubtful because the reviews on google play are mixed with quite a few saying there game server is rubbish whilst others have no complaints
personally I agree with them in that it is the game developers server that cant handle the traffic hence the crashes and ' server error' message on the tab when trying to get online with the game
ive played the game loads in the past however with barely any issues hence I just want to try anything that might help?
Switched channels and have insidder installed all good no issues except for this game
Can you give any tips on say port forwarding etc etc that may improve the connection between the router and tablet?
Samsung website is non specific in fairness so want to try other ideas with the 7800dxl
thanks

Although I've never done port forwarding with not being a gamer or have a 7800DXL to walk you through, I'm not sure if it would help in this case depending upon the level of interactivity as you would get with something like Minecraft.
Because a wireless connection can be fickle at times, when you are gaming it's always best to do it wired and if you have a computer that you can wire up to and you still get disconnected from the game without losing Internet (check lights on router), then it won't be your end.
With a computer you can also boot up into Safe Mode with Networking to see if the problem persists, although you will lose audio in that mode.
As it's very rare that a website will put their hands up to a failing on their part, then you may never get a clear answer on this but trying at different times of the day may produce different results which may confirm if their servers are crashing.
I'm sorry that I can't be of any further help on this and perhaps billion_fan or others with experience of gaming may have some other suggestions.

As an after thought and on the off chance that it could be a DHCP problem, try assigning the tablet with a static IP address as a Fixed Host either with a reserved address within the DHCP range or outside of it.
You could check the DHCP Table to see what it normally gets assigned and use that as its reserved address.
I think the reason the thread has had quite a number of views could be because others outside of the forum are looking for answers relating to your thread title and a Google Spider may have picked it up.

The device should be optimized for the wireless connectivity by default, meaning WPA 2 security, 40 mhz, OBSS disabled etc
When the issue occurs, are still able to browse the internet on your samsung tablet, are any other wireless devices effected when the issue occurs??
Have you tried using your samsung tablet and game with a another wireless connection??

Thanks for replies
Strangely enough yesterday i tried the game app again on the Tablet before attempting to change any router settings and as fast as lightning straight online no issues at all - played a dozen or so games yesterday with near perfect results in connection.
Makes me wonder if the game developer has been looking on the web for advice and found this forum thread title because they have certainly done something with there server
If it isn't broken then i wont try and fix it - hopefully the connection will stay solid.
I was able to still browse the internet on the tablet even though no game server connection though i haven't tried using the tablet and this particular game on another wireless connection.
That said the game can be played on mobile phones with internet and using i phone i was unable to connect to the game both wireless and 3G - since yesterday i can now play using the phone too on both Wifi / 3G
Regards,
TL

Then it does seem like the game server had issues, if you can't play over 3G and wireless (meaning two different connections) then problem most likely lies with the game servers, probably clogged up with many users attempting to connect the servers
