Hi, I have a 7800DXL on the latest firmware, and I am finding the wifi range seriously poor on the 2.4ghz band, (I am not using 5ghz at the moment).
Working in I.T I have reasonable knowledge for setting these devices up, I have checked for the best available channel, and used this.
its current set to 40mhz, channel 9, power is set to 100%
I can go from one room to the next and the signal really drops, yet my older netgear rangemax was much much better.
I invested in the billion, because of all the good reviews.
does anyone have any suggestions what I can try to improve the range.
regards
Mark

Re: 7800DXL poor wifi Range
I am also experiencing very weak range with this router. It seems to have worsened recently, and I am now having serious issues casting from phones/tablets to the Chromecast in my TV which is only around 5 metres from the router, with one wall seperating it. I can actually walk with my phone from the room the router is in to the living room and the wifi reception bars drop with every few steps. This is happening on both wifi bands. Very dissapointed and desperately looking for a fix. Changing to 20mhz did not work.

Try changing channels, also make sure you have the latest firmware (2.32d)thomasboleyn wrote:I am also experiencing very weak range with this router. Also make sure the routers antennas are exposed, without anything blocking them, try to place the router in a place away from other electrical equipment to minimise interference

Thanks, I have tried all of these things already however. I have submitted a support ticket so will see what Billion have to say.billion_fan wrote:Try changing channels, also make sure you have the latest firmware (2.32d)thomasboleyn wrote:I am also experiencing very weak range with this router.
