7800DX WiFi poor signal and dropping

Good morning all,

I purchased a Billion 7800DX last year but only got round to using it the past few months when I switched to fibre.
I had this setup right next to the fibre modem for a few weeks and it seemed to work OK but have since relocated the Billion to my back room which is fed by a 10M Belkin CAT5e cable from the fibre modem.
Since I have relocated this, The WiFi connection keeps dropping out on my PS3 now. In the original location, It would briefly drop on my Nexus 5 also. Now all are dropping just for a split second.

Compared to my old BeBox used on ADSL2+ (Which was stored in a cupboard) the WiFi signal is about half.
My BeBox would give 100% signal tucked away in the cupboard, Infact I could even pick up the signal in my flat carpark and out the back of my local pub it was that strong.

The Billion signal is sitting at 60% in a clear line of sight about 5m away from the PS3.

Now what I have tried so far is changing the wifi channels and resetting the router. Installed the latest firmware and again with factory settings to setup from scratch but the same issues occur.
I haven't setup inSSIDer to check as I saw recommended on previous threads but will try that later on.

Both 2.4Ghz and 5GHz channels are currently on. Would this cause an issue?

Any other suggestions?

I also saw something somewhere about adjusting the bandwidth down to 20mhz. I can also try that.

I'll try that out when I get home then report back. Why does it do this anyway? I noticed several people having similar issues.

It could be down to interference

Righto, So would I be able to see this on inSSIDer?
Just seemed odd that my BeBox was fine and never missed a beat then this one drops every 5-10 minutes. I'll try anyway, Hopefully have a positive outcome.

Interference could be also electrical devices located near the router, also cordless phones might interfere with the signal, this will not show up on inssider

I'll report my findings anyway.
Just strange how all items are basically in the same place. PC was in the same place as BeBox (In the cupboard), Moved all out into the room to increase strength and replaced BeBox with Billion and instant drop.

Are you using any USB 3.0 devices as while I know they have been reported to knock out other wireless devices such as mice and keyboards operating on the 2.4GHz band, not sure if they could knock out a router broadband wireless signal - billion_fan will be better able to advise on that, but thought it could be a consideration.

No USB 3.0 devices used at all. It just has a CAT5e cable from the ECI modem plugged in and one to my main PC. Items on the wireless are Sky Box, PS3, Ipad mini, iPhone and a Nexus 5. Only ever 3 max used at one time.
