I have setup a new Billion 7800dxl 2.32d over a BT ADSL connection (pppoa) and found that whenever downloading on the connection all other devices become very slow, pings average about 700ms.
Is there some way to alleviate this, so that browsing gameing etc get priority over downloads.

The only way to is to limit the download speed on the device in question, using QOS (so that device won't eat up all your bandwidth)
