What are first impressions like? Has it fixed any of the issues from 1.06e?

I'm sticking with 1.06d for the time being

If you back up your 1.06d config, you can give the new one a try and restore with the 1.06d if you get any probs.

I have both 1.06d and 1.06e backed up and downloaded the new one to install later, but had a disconnect this evening so thought I may as well install it and I haven't had any problems as a bog standard user.

EDIT.....I've since found out that you can't revert to the old f/w via the backed up config and that only applies to the settings while using that f/w.

Hi All

What bugs does 1.06e have, purchased 7800N from Amazon with this firmware, connected Monday died this morning, no DSL. Carried out a factory reset, all connected to my ISP again, but can only connect one device at a time via wireless.

I wouldn't have thought it would have been the 1.06e f/w. What devices are you trying to connect ?

Assigning static IPs outside of the DHCP pool usually resolves any device connectivity problems and the DSL disconnect could have been due to a very low SNRM (interference)/line problem.

There have been cases of late where the 7800Ns have been faulty and with one OP on this forum, that it didn't seem compatible with his ISP.

If the disconnects continue (and you didn't have this problem with your previous setup) then raise a ticket with Billion tech support via http://www.billion.uk.com/esupport and they'll get back to you via an e-mail within a day or two.

I had allocated devices outside of the DHCP pool. I had an iPod connected to my network, and when connecting a laptop the iPod dropped out, reconnected iPod, then laptop dropped out. Unit has since died again overnight, so waiting a replacement from Amazon, hope I was just unlucky!! Old BT2700HGV now back in service, and has been working ok all day.

You must reset back to factory default settings after the firmware upgrade, this is to ensure all changes within the firmware are implemeneted correctly. Do not restore settings from previous firmware builds

Hmm, as I have zero issues with the firmware that is installed I am not messing with this right now.

Hopefully you will just have been unlucky and will be able to use the new 7800N without any problems.

It was hard to find when SC0TTISH made his/her post, as it was not on the cited page. They only fixed that Friday.

Me neither, I think that I'll wait for the documentation to appear to see what it's about first.
