Hi there,
Just wanted to register to say how excellent the new 8800NL I purchased is. Lot of advanced options and incredibly easy to setup. It even had the Priority and VLAN ID already set, all I ended up needing to do was enter my Sky username|password and it connected immediately, it did drop the sync a little but this is solely due to the amount of times I connected/disconnected when trying to extract the username|password, which was the most difficult part of getting it set up.
So big thumbs up here. Thank you.

A quick question, if you look at the system log, what is the lease time given to you from Sky for your WAN IP, it should state your WAN IP address and the lease time, all I need to know is the lease timeNismex wrote:Hi there,

Sure thing, it's 3600, so 60 minutes? Hmmm ... is there something else I need to do? Would MAC spoofing get around this, assuming every 60 minutes Skys equipment will renew my DHCP lease?

Although actually checking the log, every 30 minutes there's an entry for DHCP lease.

I am not really clear with this though!!
Ok 60 Minutes lease, (which I do not agree as I have been with the same IP for the last month with Sky Fibre Unlimited even after rebooting the router and turning this on and off for over 30 minutes)
Now even if... why do I get this advertised every 30 minutes in the logs anyway if the lease was really 60 minutes (3600 seconds)??

This is something Sky control, the router has no control over the DHCP lease time
