DHCP Leased Time

Post by Martin Goose »

Anyone know the maximum value for this time? The manual does not say and the web interface does not give the range of permitted values as it does for some other values. Does zero correspond to non-expiring lease times?

You can't add the value of 0 the web gui won't allow, I have just tried a value of 360000, and I got a lease time of 14999 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes, 12 seconds

I hope this helps :D

I was running with 10000 (currently showing 416 days, 15 hours, 26 minutes, 33 seconds for one of my devices) but will change to 360000. Thanks.

I had two router lock ups on Saturday - no internet connection and I couldn't log into the router over wifi or ethernet - I had to power cycle both times to get the router working again. Never had this before. This was after I changed the DHCP lease time, the night before, to 3 weeks (504 hours). Just picked a number at random. I thought also that one of the guest wireless networks could also be the problem as some months ago I changed the maximum number of connected devices to the guest network from 16 down to 4 - and I think that limit could have been tested this weekend. So I pulled the DHCP lease time down to 72 hours and changed the maximum number of devices on the guest wireless network to 16. On Sunday no router lock ups so I'm wondering if I found a bug in the firmware? Router is on latest firmware too.
