Can I use a 7700 as a wireless access point bridged to a 7700? What wireless security can be used in this setup?

Thanks.

I would be interested in this as well. Just picked up a 7700N cheap from Amazon and wanting to try and use it as a wireless extender to my 7800N.

The Billion website claims the 7700N supports WDS so should work as a repeater! Has anybody tried it?

Just bought a new 7700N to try as a repeater, I'll let you know if it works!

It does work but you need to use WEP encryption on both sides.

The things to look out for are

1. Make sure you turn off the DHCP server on the 7700N
2. Please set 7700N in 802.11n/EWC to “disabled”. Found under wireless >> advanced
3. Make sure both devices channels match
4. Enable WEP security on both 7800N and 7700N
5. Enter the MAC of the 7700N inside the 7800N and enable WDS
6. On the 7700N select Access Point and 'Scan' for the 7800N ESSID and and enable the MAC/ESSID to link the units, or enter the 7800N mac in the 7700N manually.

I hope this helps :D

Interesting, I'm currently using a TP-LINK WA830RE range extender which handles WPA-PSK without a problem and also didn't require any WDS configuration in my 7800N. I have also fitted 8dBi gain antennas to both 7800N and range extender, the set up works okay but I want to standardise on Billion kit and I'm not impressed with the idea of the plug-in repeaters at floor level with tiny antennas.
