SNR no longer changes download speed

I have got ADSL broadband, the ISP is BT

A couple of days ago, when I replaced my BT Homehub 2 with the Billion BiPAC 8800NL, I found that setting the SNR to 1 increased the download speed from about 2.0 Mbps to about 2.7 Mbps

This morning the download speed had reverted to about 2.0 Mbps (with the SNR set to 1) and tweaking the SNR doesn't seem to change the download speed which remains at about 2.0 Mbps

I have tried -1, 1, 2, 6 and back to 1 but the download speed hardly changes.

Any suggestions?

It seems your ISP is over ridding your SNR change, you need to contact your ISP to make sure the line is not capped and not using DLM.
