Hi,
First post so be gentle
I would like to use my Bipac 8800NL as a modem but still use my HH5 for it's Firewall and Wireless, how would I achieve this?
I got my Bipac 8800NL working straight away with my FTTC (Infinity 2) so that's good news
Thanks
HEADRAT

First you need to change the WAN interface on the 8800NL (I also added a screen shot example)
1. Login to router
2. Click on 'Configuration >> WAN >> WAN Service'
3. Edit 'PTM PPPOE' Interface
4. Change the 'Type' to 'Bridging'
5. Ensure the '802.1P Priority' is set to 0 and the ' 802.1Q VLAN ID ' is set to 101
6. Click on 'Apply'
7. Connect your a Ethernet connection from port 1 on the 8800NL to the WAN port the BT HH5
8. Configure the BT HH5 for a Ethernet WAN connection (I have limited info on BT HH5 sorry, I have never used one)

That's the bit I'm struggling with, I can't see how in the HH5 I can change it to use the Ethernet WAN connection rather than the DSL port.
I'll have a play over the weekend.
Many thanks for your post and help

Have a play around, the HH5 should be set to Ethernet WAN using PPPOE

Will the change to bridging mode drop my VDSL connection and resynch? I got quite a high sync right now and I m thinking of getting N66U to be the wireless slave and the 8800NL to act as a modem, but I really dont want to drop conneciton.

Nope it shouldn't drop the DSL connection (DSL light will stay on solid)

OK so I've now got the HH5 connected to the Bipac 8800NL and everything works OK, how do I now connect to the Bipac once it's in Bridging mode?

You need to connect a direct connection to the 8800NL, with a static IP set to your LAN card, within the IP address
eg router - 192.168.1.254, PC - 192.168.1.200
