Tweaking SNR on BT ADSL
Posted: Wed May 20, 2015 7:13 pm
Hi,
I have just set up my new 7800DXL after buying it on the advice of some websites. I am keen to tweak my SNR to try and get a bit more from my connection.
I have tried a few values as per the instructions and various threads on here but i see no change in any data in my connection. Can anyone please have a scan of my settings below and advise if i am doing anything wrong? I simply enter a number in the SNR box and hit apply, the connection restarts but all data remains as is. Right now i have a value of 3 typed in for SNR.
DSL
Mode ADSL_G.dmt
Traffic Type ATM
Status Up
Link Power State L0
Downstream Upstream
Line Coding (Trellis) On On
SNR Margin (dB) 12.8 31.0
Attenuation (dB) 9.5 9.0
Output Power (dBm) 17.9 11.9
Attainable Rate (Kbps) 12176 1404
Rate (Kbps) 8128 448
K (number of bytes in DMT frame) 255 15
R (number of check bytes in RS code word) 20 16
S (RS code word size in DMT frame) 1.00 1.00
D (interleaver depth) 64 4
Delay (msec) 16.00 8.00
INP (DMT symbol) 2.33 0.13
Super Frames 877799 877799
Super Frame Errors 0 0
RS Words 54238126 6779574
RS Correctable Errors 170 0
RS Uncorrectable Errors 0 0
HEC Errors 21 0
OCD Errors 2 0
LCD Errors 2 0
Total Cells 286075468 0
Data Cells 8017800 0
Bit Errors 0 0
Total ES 0 0
Total SES 0 0
Total UAS 51 51
I am on an Exchange online line, will this make a difference?
many thanks
Chris
