7800DX accessing DrayTek Vigor 130 via its P4/(EWAN)

Hi
I have a 7800DX for which the VDSL2 input is from a DrayTek Vigor 130, via the 7800DX's P4 (EWAN) configured as PPPoE. This is all fine, much as you might expect. I'm beginning to think this is physically not possible but is there a way of accessing the DrayTek modem interface from the 7800DX to get at its line stats ? This is all bearing in mind that the physical connection layout is FTTC to V130, then (via LAN) to 7800DX/P4(EWAN). As it is part of the LAN, how can I access the V130 which is on a different subnet (192.168.2.x) ? I have tried various ideas eg. tunnelling between 7800DX and V130. Nothing has worked as yet. Perhaps I could configure the V130 on the same subnet as the 7800DX but DrayTek ship this as default gateway 192.168.2.1 and there may be good reason for this. Any useful ideas gratefully appreciated.
BTW: I can of course access the DrayTek V130 by disconnecting the LAN from it and directly connecting a PC to it physically... but its the plugging / unplugging I'm trying to avoid if at all possible.
cheers
