Hi,
When I first started on Plusnet I seemed to be getting a reliable connection on attainable rate of around 5000 downstream with proportionate 'rate'. And was very happy as this was faster than my previous isp, Demon.
I then went through several 7800dxl firmware upgrade, downgrade, upgrade cycles on the same day (for irrelevant reasons, possibly - I was confused by 2.32e reporting lower attainable than actual rate but 2.32d was doing it too so I went back to 2.32e).
Since then, the speed has dropped off a lot and Plusnet have reset my ip profile 2 or 3 times. I'm about 3-4 days into the most recent training period, my connection has been stable for over 18 hours and these are my Billion 7800dxl 2.32e stats:
The SNR has been at over 12 all day - I thought with DLM it should float down to ~6. Plusnet support told me they had set the SNR target to 6 for me.
Forgive my lack of knowledge but do these stats suggest I have a problem? Plusnet say they've reset my profile and attainable did go up when they said they'd done it, but only to 3500, not the 5000 I saw when I first joined them a few weeks back.
Maybe I should wait till the end of the 10 day training period and, if the SNR is still stuck at 12, use the Billion SNR tweak to lower it? Or would the DLM compensate to get me back to what you see currently? Is there anything I should be asking Plusnet to do that they haven't already?
This is the current BT Wholesale result:
According to the 'how fast will I get' tests on my number I should get 2-4Mbps.
I do believe the hardware at my end is OK as BT Openreach fitted a new M3 box and faceplate when I moved to Plusnet. (The 5000 attainable was after this was fitted.)
Advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
Pete

I would wait until the training period is over then, adjust the SNR, as plusnet have said they have reset your line profile, which does not seem to have taken effect, looking at the stats, (you should get a SNR downstream value of 6 db )peterb99 wrote:Hi,

Also try not to drop the DSL line so much in one day, try to space it out a bit
