7800 DXL - Unable to set up "Anywhere Access" Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials

pppoa0 (DSL)
Hoping someone can offer some insight here.
I have set up a small server running on Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials.
I would like to be able to access the server using the Windows Anywhere Access (i.e, from a remote location not on the local network).
The errors being reported related to the router.
3 possibilities according to Server 2012 Wizard:
1- Anywhere Access to your Server is bocked (this is obvious, but I don't know why)
2- There may be more than one router on your network (there is not, I only have the Billion 7800 DXL)
3- UPnP in not enabled on your router.
This 3rd notification is interesting.
The router says UPnP is enabled.
I have tried all the port forwarding and anything else I can think of, after days of searching forums.
Is there any kind of help available for setting up this router to allow access to Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, from outside of the LAN?
Remote Desktop connections from the clients on the LAN are no problem.
The server is simply not able to see the router properly, and the port forwards don't appear to work.
I am using NAT, with a static WAN IP, and the server has a static internal IP in the normal range for Billion routers.
The server and clients can connect to the internet without a problem.
Is there something wrong with UPnP in the 7800DXL using firmware v2.32e?

Can you provide us with a copy of your system log once you have ran the UPNP test.
Manual port forwarding should work regardless of UPNP, things to check/try
1. Make sure you windows servers default gateway is set to the routers internal IP address
2. If port forwarding is failing try to the DMZ option (put the IP address of your server into DMZ) this should open all ports for a test
3. When setting up the port forwarding rules ensure you have the correct 'Interface' selected in your case PPPoA
4. Check the firewall settings on the windows server, for test even try to disable it

Thanks for the quick reply.
This is very odd, but it appears to be working now (although I am still only testing via my internal network).
I can access the remote access website, all my devices show up, and all the server folders are visible, but the server itself is still reporting there are problems.
Router IP unknown
+ all the other errors reported in my original post.
What I have changed though, is set up the server itself to be the DHCP server.
Turned off DHCP in the router.
Assigned reserved (pseduo static) IP's for the devices on the internal network in the server DHCP snapin.
Turned OFF UPnP in the Billion Router
Added the server static IP to the DMZ, connected to the server using the remote Anywhere Access web address.
REMOVED the server from the DMZ.
Now it is still working.
However I am still being told that "Anywhere Access to your Server is Blocked".
and "There may be more than one router on your network."
Now I am absolutely paranoid that I have opened myself up to hackers even though I have removed the machine from the DMZ
Totally confused

Totally confused
If the DMZ function is disabled/empty you should be fine, it might be working because you still have the port forwarding rules setup.
The best way to check it, is to do a port scan (I normally use shields up), the ports that you have forwarded within the router should show as open, the rest should be closed

Thanks for the hints so far.
The network appears to be properly firewalled, so that is one concern off my mind..
I still don't know why the server is flagging these errors, but it appears that I can at least access the server remotely.
I will keep picking at it and update this thread if I find a full resolution.

Personally, I would have disabled the Win server DHCP, and relied on the router. Are you sure that you have correctly configured the DHCP server? It needs Default gateway, DNS servers, address scope, domain etc.

Hi,
Are you saying that you have Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials using Anywhere Access set up and working, and the Server Configuration is reporting no errors while using the 7800DXL?

Well, I have solved my problems. By ditching the Billion router and replacing it with a Netgear product.
Billion is ok for simple home use, but it is not much good in a proper network. It is very hard to configure, and the documentation is sketchy.
Right now I feel like I was ripped off, and I'll never recover the cost of the router because it is so old school.
