ADSL2+ - improving 7700N performance

My exchange was recently upgraded to 21CN. Prior to the upgrade my 7700n outperformed the home hub 3 in terms of download speed and stability. I now find that the HH3 gives a slightly better connection speed in comparison to the 7700n (untweaked). If I weak the 7700n's snr I get a small improvement but the HH3 still gives a better download speed.
I see from the Billion webpage that "The router may require firmware modification for certain ADSL2 / 2+ / Annex M DSLAMs". Can someone tell me how to get this firmware? Also, will it improve the ability to make SNR tweaks?
