ADSL Settings.

Post by slipd83 »

Hey guys,

Can someone tell me if these settings are alright as I'm getting conflicting reports...

Image

Are these alright? I live in the countryside so my connection is rubbish but I am on MAX DSL, which I guess would be considered ADSL2?!

Also, my target snr as set by BT is 10db. If I change the snr through the router by entering a value of 50 in the snr menu that should give me a new snr of 7db shouldn't it?

Thanks!

I'd tick the SRA box as well as that will let the router adjust speeds without a re-sync.

If your router stats are something like downstream 8192kbps & upstream 448kbps then don't bother with the SNR tweaking as it'll have no effect as far as I'm aware as your speeds are determined by the profile you're set on by BT.

MAX DSL is 8meg max whereas as ADSL2 is 12meg I think.

As for the Modulation you can tick them all if you like as it won't make a difference.

You could go to the BT speed test site & post back the results. It's here:- http://speedtester.bt.com/
