Hi Everyone,

we currently have Billion 7402X in our stores and i was wondering it were possible to set up a text file to view the Event log on this router? kind of like a short cut so i don't need to log in every time to see if there have been any issues.

Hello!

Our Stores? How many we talking here? ;)

However, these routers have something in called "syslog monitoring" ... Whats Syslog? i hear you cry...

Well basically, syslog can be used to "output" that information to a program (a syslog daemon), this "stores" things in real time as the events occur, and let you search by varying devices, incoming IP etc. etc. ;)

a couple of examples here and here..

syslog daemons arent usually free (annoyingly..) however above is one free trial and one freebee (although its a little old, depends what hardware you're running on the machine you want to be able to view it on (server?))

A little more detail would be helpful, depending on what i recommend next :)

Kind Regards
Matt

Yes *I would say if you have Billion 7402X and you want to setup text file to view the event log in this router then it is possible to setup that text file for that router.
