[RESOLVED] Dualband WIFI Issues when testing with IPhone
Finally received my 7800DXL and am very pleased, however i have noticed some WIFI issues.
I am using an IPhone5 to test and setup my new 7800DXL and i have notice strange things.
If both bands are enabled and the 5ghz channel is set to the default of 36:
The iphone cannot see the 2.4ghz band at all.
If i set the 5ghz band to anything else, channel 100 e.g, the iphone can then see both bands, however:
if i connect to one band, 5ghz e.g i cannot connect to the 2.4ghz band for some time if at all.
Basically if the 5ghz is enabled, connecting to 2.4ghz is basically impossible.
I can see two ticks against both bands if connected to 5ghz. It is almost like the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz band are not isolated somehow in terms of identity....
I wouldn't say it was an iphone issue as i used for a while a dual band router from tp-link without any issues and
could rapidly switch between them as if they were totally different access points.
I have not tried with any other devices yet and i thought i would mention this issue.
Looks like i am the first to post on this new unit.

One thing i noticed is that the BSSID (MAC) address is identical for both WIFI bands and the LAN connection itself.
Not too sure this is a good idea?

We have replicated your issue with a iphone 5, we have reported the issue to our engineers, we also tested samsung galaxy note 2 and there is no issue, so the issue is isoloated to the iphone 5.
We will work on it, and drop you update soon

While you at it, could you ask them to add an EDIT option to the Virtual Servers page under NAT configuration.
The 7800N had this option but now its gone and making changes is a pain.
Thanks

Our engineers have stated they have already put the 'Edit' button for the virtual servers into development.swatboy79 wrote:While you at it, could you ask them to add an EDIT option to the Virtual Servers page under NAT configuration.

Great thanks for the update.
One last thing, the 7800n never had a connection up time which wasn't helpful
But on the 7800DXL i see there is a connection time label but it is blank?
Also on the stats page for xDSL they could put an up time in there?
