DDNS alternative providers

Has anybody managed to use DDNS updates from a source other than whats in the list of available providers?
In particular, I'm looking at 'NamesCheap', which can be updated via a URL, but I would need the current WAN IP address substituted into the URL.

Having looked into this, I don't think that it's possible, so may I put forward a feature request please?
As most of the popular DDNS suppliers support updates via a URL, could you add a custom option, that allows a URL to be entered. The URL is then called (using cURL) when an IP change is detected?

I requested that some additional DDNS providers be added on here in the past but I never received a response

I resorted to using DNSoMatic from OpenDNS which is available in the list of DDNS providers on the 8800NL. DNSoMatic is basically a forwarding agent - you send your latest IP address to them and they forward it on to over 40 different DDNS web-service providers (they forward to Namecheap too!)

While I would rather send my updates directly to my preferred DDNS provider (DuckDNS in this case), when the modem's GUI doesn't support it or allow for custom configs, there's little choice but to use an alternative. That said, I've been forwarding to DuckDNS through DNSoMatic for a few months now without issue

Let me know if you need help on getting configured

Thanks donegal, I hadn't realised that was an option. I'll have a look, and let you know how i get on. Currently, I'm using a cron job, on my Freenas box, but that could mean that I have the wrong external IP address for about an hour. So far though, it hasn't caused me any issues.
