EWAN port identical to LAN ports 1-3?

Regarding the wired connections on the 8800NL, would I be correct in presuming that the EWAN port is identical to ports 1 - 3 and that therefore it can be used as just another Ethernet LAN port? I mean, I don't have to specifically set it up as an ordinary port, do I? On my 8800NL, ports 1 - 3 are already in use and I now need another wired port connection that'll run at preferably 100M bps; the EWAN port's the only one left. I presume also that the EWAN Ethernet port will be behind the inferred NAT firewall, the same as ports 1 - 3.

That's true for the 8800AXL, not sure about the 'NL'
