Connecting 7800DXL to fibre connection

I am investigating a possible fibre connection.

I have a Billion 7800DXL and wonder if this could be used with a fibre connection. I am assuming that this would connect to the BTOR supplied modem?

Thanks

Hi, I'm not the best person to ask, but like my post further down little help on here, but the products are fantastic, yes you can use it on Fiber, but you will need a separate modem, and in some cases (as I'm not sure) you can use the supplied equipment but it will need to be configured to act like a modem, bridge mode.
I have the same router (7800DXL) and a separate fiber modem and am just leaving Sky, I posted a question about the settings for B.T. like you know one as replied as yet.
Sorry I can’t be of much help, all the best

Will you be able to forward the reply to me as well, please?
I am in the same shoe and it appears I need a separate device to connect to port 4 on the 7800DXL router.

Thanks

Just in case anyone else is stuck you can’t put the B.T. router into bridge mode, thanks for that Dave.

I've had the Openreach modem/router working with the 7800DXL. All you do is configure the 7800DXL to use the EWAN port where the Openreach modem plugs into, then log in with your ISP username and password through the 7800DXL.

Thanks

Not yet committed to fibre as on a long line but will bear this in mind if I do it.
