I find that when I am downloaing a file by way of P2P using a program like uTorrent I get very slow download speeds. If I reset my ADSL connection then on re-connect speeds are back to where they should be. Why is this ? Anyone else get this ?

When uTorrent slows down, have you tested a normal download from HTTP to see if its only UTorrent that is effected?

who is your ISP?
If normal HTTP traffic is ok, it must be something to do with uTorrent, have you tried to open the ports (via portforwarding) to the PC that is running UTorrent??

Fast.co.uk - they guarentee no shaping or throttling.
On the uTorrent client there is a green tick indicating ports are open and of course when I reset the router and speed increases by a factor of 50 the other settings are unchanged

How long does it take for the torrent speeds to slow down, after a restart??

I have my normal connection speeds and all works well. If I start a torrent the fasted download speed I get is approx 100kB/s. If I disconnect and then re-connect then commonly the torrent will start downloading at approx 500 kB/s immediately. I have tested this across a number of files and circumstances and it is pretty consistent. The DSL sync speed is pretty consistent both before and after the reset.

I would suggest requesting 1.06e from Billion UK Support, after a firmware upgrade and reset back to factory default settings, check if you still run into the same issue on firmware 1.06e.
