7800N upload limit

Post by james833495 »

Can anyone tell me why I have an upload limit of around 50mb after changing to this router. This is usually to FTPs. Has it anything to do with the firewall and what can I change to stop it.

Many thanks

What type of connection do you have?
BT Infinity FTTC [60.8Mb/20Mb] via Huawei EchoLife HG612 & Billion 7800N [1.06g]

Hi Starman,

It's an ADSL connection and the computers are connected via ethernet.

How have you tested the 50mb upload speed? Are you uploading to a FTP server?

If you are on BT Infinity, the max upload is 10mb.

Also have you tested by connecting directly to the BT modem and then check your upload speeds again?

Hi Billion_fan,

Yes uploading to an FTP. Im with Claranet Soho and they tell me there is no limit at all. This problem only started after changing to this router. When you say test the 50mb upload speed do you mean the time it takes for 50mb to upload or the bit rate? Sorry not so good with Routers etc. Are there settings within the router setup that I could of got wrong to cause this problem?

Hi

I only need a example of how you are testing the issue eg uploading a 50mb file to FTP.

What happenes?? Does the speed slow down?? or does the router disconnect??

Also what results did you used to get with your old router??

Thanks

Hi,

When I upload a 50mb(or there abouts) file to an FTP it goes through the motions and looks like its uploaded the entire file but then the file on the ftp has 0mb file size. There is no obvious change in speed and no disconnection. If the file was with a group of other files all the ones under 50mb upload just fine. With the old router I could upload files of any size no problem.
