Re: Re Port Forwarding
I am on ADSL.
I am going to slightly change tack here.
This all came to light as certain sites I visit where showing me as not connected.
As above while using my static IP address all is now good.
BUT
When I turn on my VPN (TotalVPN), obviously my external IP address changes, and now my port is now longer seen.
Are there any settings in my router that I can use to allow the prot to be seen again when using my VPN?
Thanks

Re: Re Port Forwarding
Unfortunately as all traffic is routed through the VPN tunnel port forwarding won't work, unless you port forward at the VPN end (WAN end) and open ports to the internal IP address that is assigned to your device from the VPN server (something I have never tried)Midjet wrote:I am on ADSL.

Re: Re Port Forwarding
I have contacted my VPN provider who gave me a link to how to setup a router with DD-WRT firmware but I can't find anything similar in my router.
Can anyone make sense of this in any meaningful way that might help?

Re: Re Port Forwarding
This is just a guide to setup the tunnel on the router it self (instead of setting this up on your PC and dialling into the VPN server), the 8800AXL does not have on-board VPN so you won't be able to setup it up that way,Midjet wrote:I have contacted my VPN provider who gave me a link to how to setup a router with DD-WRT firmware but I can't find anything similar in my router.
