I've seen there is a firmware update for the 8800AXL.
It is recommended to reconfigure everything after the upgrade, which for general options is fine.

Now, I use MAC filtering and have around 20-25 devices allowed (which would have to be added for 2.4G and 5G). Is there any way of restoring these in one go?

Maybe, add one, do a backup, open the backup in a text editor, paste the relevant details from the old backup in the same section and restore?

Or am I doomed to enter one by one again?

Which firmware are on, and which firmware do you plan to upgrade too??

I am on 2.32d.dt1

With this firmware it is a MUST that you reset the device back to factory default settings once upgraded, and also do NOT restore settings from previous firmware builds.

(editing the config is not recommended by us, but its a option you can try once you added one MAC address to the mac filtering list, just be sure to follow the same layout when adding more MAC addresses to the config)

Only one way to find out!

I'll do it once I have some time (in case I need to end up doing manually) and update here. Might save someone else the trouble!

I've done this a couple of times, over various releases, and can confirm that it's ok. Just be very careful when cutting, ans pasting XML, as it's easy to miss a closing brace!
