7800DXL with Sky

Post by jgwillcox »

Hi,

I've just purchased this router to replace the poor SR101 router. Unfortunately, I cannot connect.
I have got hold of my login details using Wireshark, and followed the instructions in the manual for Sky MER users i.e.:
Type - IP over Ethernet
VPI/VCI - 0/40
Encapsulation Mode - VCMUX
Option 61 Id - in the format username|password

The login I got from Wireshark was (12 hex chars)@skydsl|(8 hex chars)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Can you post a copy of your system log??

Also have you tried using PPOA 0/38 VC Mux with the same username and password??

Thanks for the reply.

I haven't tried any other settings, but I will try your suggestion tonight.
Are you referring to a log produced by the router? How do I get it?

Cheers

It should be listed under the 'System Log'

Login to the router click on 'Status >> Log >> System log' copy and paste the whole log here so we can investigate

Success!
PPoA 0/38 worked.
Strangely a laptop wired to the router isn't getting an Internet connection though, others & wireless are fine though. I'll look into that later.
Thanks for the help. Has Sky changed the settings or something?

Thanks again.

Some customers have reported that were working fine with MER, then it stopped working, once they plugged there Sky router back up they found Sky have moved the protocol back to PPPOA.
